I like to play games with my family at the dinner table. Sometimes it’s Mad Libs or the telephone game. Sometimes we make up our own.
The latest is called “These Pretzels are Making Me Thirsty.” It’s based on a book I recently read called Actions: The Actors’ Thesaurus. Here’s how it works.
First, choose a simple phrase. (For example, “These pretzels are making me thirsty.”)
Next, everyone takes a turn saying the line, but they “play” it with a different emotion (i.e., fear, joy, anxiety).
Everyone else tries to guess what emotion is being played.
